Role : Senior Manager, Business Development (APAC & Japan)
Jubilant Biosys Ltd works with leading bio techs and pharma companies of the world. Biosys wants to establish a maintain and further develop a strong and credible footprint in APAC &Japan. This key role will lead the Business Development function in APAC & Japan by performing key strategic and operational tasks such as lead generation: market research, qualifying and cold-calling to prospective customers to promote Jubilant Biosys service offerings comprising of Integrated Discovery programs or Synthetic/ Medicinal Chemistry, Scale up, PRD, GMP Manufacturing, in-vitro and in-vivo Biology, Structural Biology, DMPK etc.
Skills & Competencies Required For The Role
- Ability to represent the Business Development function and Biosys in a manner that matches the client's expectation and need
- Drive achievement of top line business development goals in Existing and New Business areas in APAC & Japan.
- Lead key BD processes such as new business demand generation including NDA/ MSA processing, RFP generation, coordination of technical discussions, pricing finalization, deal negotiation and closure of business.
- Deliver an outstanding business relationship experience via detailed and end to end relationship management, managing existing business in APAC & Japan by maintaining regular contact and interactions with customers.
- Should have proven experience in deal structuring, contract drafting and negotiation
- Should be able to generate market intelligence through networking.
- Actively engaging Existing Customers for Cross-selling/ Up-selling Jubilant's discovery services.
- Working with cross functional teams, supporting and developing teams, sharing expert knowledge on the operating territory, following organization processes and demonstrating commitment to the vision and values of the organization.
- Ability to represent Biosys in industry conferences, social events, marketing activities; planning and executing on the ground to strengthen Jubilant's brand in APAC & Europe
- Ensuring timely and detailed MIS, weekly updates and CRM (salesforce) use to document and summarize market actions.
The candidate for this role will need to have the following:
- An Indian national with experience of around 10-15 years in Drug Discovery
- Would have worked with large CRO players with a global presence
- A Science / Scientific background is preferred though not mandatory
- Candidate should have exposure to biotech, CRO, Big Pharma, chemical, pharma manufacturing type of industry. Any specific exposure to the field of drug discovery and development will be an added advantage
- Previous experience in different roles and levels covering areas such as Marketing, Business Strategy and International Business Development will be an added advantage.
- Highly resourceful professional with an organizational builder mindset having interdisciplinary skill sets and international work experience in International business development and formulation of business strategy.
- Expertise in identifying, establishing and generating significant business opportunities in Medicinal Chemistry, Biology, DMPK& Structural Biology under FFS and FTE business model.
- Should be technologically savvy with excellent network in drug discovery biotech domain.
- Strong written and spoken communication skills. A knowledge of the work and business culture of APAC & Japan region will be beneficial and advantageous to the role holder.
- Past experience in matrix operating team environment in order to plan new BD initiatives and execute the same across various leadership levels in the organization
