JOB DESCRIPTION
Accountable to-
- Drive GEM (Garrett Excellence Model) Process establishment & maturity in the Plant in liason with Plant Leadership Team
- Establish Digitization Process in the Plant inline with Global initiaves & with Industry 4.0 vision (in cooridnation with Global Digitization team)
- Lead Improvement initiatives to achieve Operational Excellence by ensuring GEM maturity towards Diamond Status & implementing Best in class practices, RCCA, Kaizen culture, 5S
- Ensure Pune Plant's Quality Management System is implement and being maintained in compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, Customer Specific requirements and Regulatory requirements along with implementation of Quality Policy-Objectives, Procedures & Effective audit management system.
Key Job Responsibilities
GEM - Strategic Deployment Plan & Business Objectives
- Lead to develop & effectively deploy Plant level X matrix along with Plant Leadership team inline with Global ISC X Matrix & AOP Goals
- Work with Plant Manager for SDP deployment & achieving Plant level goals
- Lead Strategic improvement projects based on business / functional needs
- Work with Plant Leadership for TTI mapping & to ensure achievement of Plant Objectives through effective driving of A3 & TKE, Opex Projects at Plant level with support of Project leaders
- Lead the Plant GEM Steering Team, which sets the Strategic plan and monitors the overall progress of the site, aligning and linking GEM with Plant performance and priorities
- Lead Plant's Global GEM assessments, Support plant functions & Co-ordinate with Global GEM team
- Sustain & Improve GEA Maturity Score through Quarterly assessment of GEM Maturity
- Ensure Horizontal deployment of Best practices, Corrective actions, Kaizen events in Plant in Co-ordination with Global GEM Team & using eCAMS portal
- Lead along with SCM Plant level End to End VSM/VSD & enable Plant Detailed / Module line level deployment
- Lead along with Production Manager Plant level Detailed VSM/VSD & enable Plant Detailed / Module line level deployment
- Mentoring 2nd level champions on deployment of GEM tool pack e.g. Kaizen events, Skill map tool, RCCA, etc
- Optimize & deploy Plant level MOS & support functional MOS development
- Teach and support the Problem Solving, Continuous improvement Process & establish this culture within the Plant by driving, deep thinking Problem Solving & Kaizen on the main areas of impact for the SQDCI metrics
Digitization at Site
- Lead Plant Digitization projects, in co-ordination with Global Digitization leader | Track progress & update at India and Global ISC level
- Establish Automated Reporting (Dashboards) at Plant level in Co-ordination with Global digitization Team
- Digitization projects- Plant level and gap analysis w.r.t. Global Process / Standard
- Map Plant level Process flows in Co-ordination with respective functions, Global digitization Team and align the standardization
- Co-ordinate with Global digitization Team to ensure improvement in the GEM tool pack
- Ensure implementation of MHS standardization, MHS adherence to facilitate data accuracy in Co-ordination with IT Team
- Serve as Change Agent with the Plant Leadership Team and Plant employees to manage Changes systematically engaging all stakeholders
GEM - Functional & Operations Excellence
- Coach and mentor Plant Leadership Team, GEM Steering committee and all employees about GEM principles
- Enable Plant OPEX & CAPEX improvement strategies identification & implementation
- Drive connectivity with Human Resources, Organizational development (OD) and the Plant Leadership Team to gauge cultural transformation
- Lead GEM Competency development, Coach, Mentors GEM element Champions & Coordinate GEM mandatory trainings on annual basis
- Lead Visual Factory 5S, VM & TAM effectiveness, Layout Standardization
- Drive Kaizen Culture (Kaizen Events, Individual kaizen Performance, SQDCI impact) | Conduct Cross Functional workshop to address systemic issues
- Effective deployment of LSWs in all ISC functions at Plant level & enable Cross functional MOS effectiveness
- TAM Standard Work deployment & adherence
- Drive Best Kaizens Management at Plant level (Co-ordination with 2nd level Champions)
- Continuously challenge conventional, business as usual thinking
Quality Management System
- Ensure development and implementation of Quality Management System (QMS) inline with Garrett global standards to comply ISO 9001 & IATF 16949 latest standards, Customer Specific Requirements & Regulatory requirements applicable for Product quality.
- Ensure effective QMS & HSE document management using digitized platforms + communication including HSE Maturity assessment support.
- Ensure effective Customer specific requirements implementation through gap assessment & action implementation with involvement of appropriate CFT members.
- Ensure effective Management review meetings and planned and executed
- Ensure successful planning and execution of all Internal and External System audits at Pune Plant inline with CSR and IATF 16949 standard & GEM requirements
- Accountable for successful Plant Certification, Recertification & Surveillance audits for ISO 9001 & IATF 16949 with No major NC.
- Ensure effective development & maintenance of Qualified Internal Auditors
- Ensure Plant level Competence gap assessment, adherence to Training calendar and competence development
- Ensure development of 2nd Level Champions (Competence) in all the Functions at Plant level
- Ensure effective implementation of Change Management Process, Development of RCCA & kaizen Culture development with support & guidance to team
- Ensure Continuous improvement through Corporate learning, NCs Corrective actions & Lessons learnt (across plants and global functions) implementation at plant
Education / Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree or above in Engineering or equivalent
- Master degree is an advantage
- Qualified Internal Auditor for IATF 16949
- Six Sigma Green Belt Certification
- Black Belt or Lean Expert will be a plus
- Stellantis Training qualifications will be advantage
Experience
- 18 Years of relevant experience in Business Excellence & Quality Management
- Experience of managing Certification audits at Site
- Experience of Co-ordinating with Team, Functions and Global counterparts (Remote locations, Corp Office)

- SWOT Analysis, Process Mapping (Logical Flow Map), Problem solving Skills & 8D, 4 Blocker Analysis
- Business imperative analysis, Plant level annual Baseline Process & Strategic deployment Process (SDP)
- Leadership Skill in Managing Organization level projects including A3, Opex and TKE Projects

- VSM-VSD (Value Stream mapping), SAP, MHS & Office 365 tools, Change Managements, Built in Quality, Pull System
- Plant level & Functional MOS development, Knowledge of COPQ & COPP
- Knowledge of IATF Core tools and experience if handling IATF CARA Portal, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
- Kaizen culture including Transformational Kaizen events, Lean Principles- waste identification (Muri Muda Mura)
- Financial Acumen, Opex and Capex, Business case preparation IATF 16949 Knowledge & QMS Requirement
- Value creation with data e.g. data Visualizations impacts and data consumption journey in shop floor
