About Us:

Throughlocals is an exciting and innovative platform offering authentic and local experiences for travelers in Tamilnadu, India. We're looking for a driven and passionate Business Development Director to help grow our platform by leading the charge in identifying and closing partnerships with local experts and hosts.

Role Overview:

As our Director, you'll be responsible for the full sales lifecyclefrom lead generation to closing deals and onboarding partners. You'll work closely with our founding team to create and execute a winning strategy to expand our network of expert hosts and grow the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the team and manage your personal end-to-end sales process, including generating, qualifying and converting leads into partnerships.
  • Identify, reach out to and build relationships with potential hosts and local experience providers.
  • Conduct negotiations and onboard experts to the Throughlocals platform.
  • Work closely with marketing and operations to optimize outreach strategies and ensure smooth onboarding.
  • Gather feedback from prospects and onboarded experts to refine the process and offerings.
  • Monitor and report on key sales metrics and performance indicators.

Who You Are:

  • Experienced in B2B2C sales, business development or partnerships (preferably in the travel, tourism, or hospitality sector).
  • Passionate about building relationships, cold calling and Account management.
  • Proven ability to independently generate leads, qualify prospects and close deals.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Results-driven and self-motivated with a startup mindset.
  • Tamil and English spoken is a must.
  • Tech savvy and open to CRM, Dashboards and lead gen tools.

Compensation:

  • Significant equity stake with long-term growth potential as we scale..
  • After six months, we will reevaluate based on company growth to offer a salary and bonus structure.
  • Experience full autonomy and the ability to shape the BD strategy. You'll have direct influence over major business decisions.
