Key Responsibilities
Oracle DBA Responsibilities: Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle databases (including RAC and Data Guard). Monitor database performance and implement tuning measures. Manage Oracle ASM, RMAN backup/recovery strategies, and OEM for monitoring.
Handle Oracle patching, cloning, and migration activities. Perform Oracle GoldenGate replication setup and troubleshooting.
Ensure database security, role management, and audit compliance. Participate in disaster recovery (DR) planning and testing.
Performance and tuning with good SQL skills PostgreSQL DBA Responsibilities: Install, configure, and manage PostgreSQL databases (community and enterprise editions).
Handle backup and recovery using pg_dump, pg_basebackup, and WAL archiving.
Implement streaming replication and high availability using tools like Patroni, repmgr, or pgpool-II.
Tune PostgreSQL performance through query optimization, indexing, and configuration parameters.
Manage upgrades and patching with minimal downtime.
Support migration of databases from Oracle to PostgreSQL (using tools like Ora2Pg or AWS DMS).
Performance and tuning with good SQL skills
