Is developing safety and security policies right up your alley? Then, a security manager job is just the one for you. As a security manager, it will be the candidate's KRA to design, create and execute safety and security policies and programs within a company. The security manager will have to come up with safety manuals as well as training materials to ensure that all the employees at least know about the aforesaid policies. He or she will also need to make sure that all security personnel are well versed in these policies. Security managers are also accountable for safeguarding and ensuring that all employees are trained in the know-how of emergency drills and also know how to respond in dire situations. To achieve that, the candidate may be required to conduct training sessions and run drills to prepare all the employees in case there is a fire or any natural calamity hits them. Overseeing and managing the activities of a safety committee also falls under a security manager's purview. Also, a part of their duty is the ability to assess and minimize security mishaps. A security manager will need to develop programs and plans to address these issues. The candidate will be required to review work habits and circumstances and ensure that methods and materials are compiled not just with the organization but also with the state and local safety standards.
