A Physics Teacher's Job is to essentially prepare and deliver lectures/lessons to undergraduate and/or graduate students on the understanding of physics as a science stream. The level of preparation and understanding may vary from being in school/ college or university. A Physics Teacher Job candidate must keep himself/herself abreast of the latest developments in the field and evaluate, plan, revise course content and methods of instruction to the students. At the university level, a Physics Teacher must conduct research in their specialization, publish findings in journals or books. They also have to not only supervise teaching assignments and prepare handouts of course material but also have to assist and guide students in their research work. A Physics Teacher Job candidate will be expected to perform the duties of a department head, serve on committees for departmental and academic matters. They may also be expected to write grant proposals to help procure external funding for research work in their field. At a school level, however, a Physics teacher is expected to examine and mark the students' class work, assignments, papers and prepare them on their given syllabi. To make classrooms interactive and interesting, they are expected to initiate and moderate classroom discussions to help students understand and grasp the subject better.
