A prospective horticulturist, work as a Technical or probationary officer in public and private bank. They also work as horticulture officers in the state department of Horticulture. They can also act as consultants in non-government organizations, insurance companies or nurseries. Opportunities are available as technical officers or marketing offers or as an advisory member in fertilizer / seed / insecticide companies. And postgraduates in horticulture can directly join as asst. professors or associate professors.

Prospective candidates should have passed 10+2 in Science stream (class 12th) with physics, chemistry and maths/biology/agriculture can opt for a Bachelors degree in Horticulture as a separate discipline or as a subject of B.Sc. Agriculture Science.
