Trident Consulting is looking for a Windows System Administrator for one of our clients
Role: Windows System Administrator
Location: Chennai /Hyderabad /Bangalore
Type: Fulltime
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of different Windows operating systems, including their life cycles, supported hardware, and software dependencies.
- Identify Windows operating systems approaching or at their end-of-life (EOL) and develop remediation plans accordingly.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to assess the impact of EOL operating systems on business-critical applications and infrastructure.
- Plan and execute Windows OS upgrades, migrations, and maintenance activities to ensure continued system stability and security.
- Work closely with IT teams to schedule and coordinate maintenance windows and minimize disruptions to end-users.
- Perform risk assessments and implement appropriate mitigation strategies during OS remediation activities.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to Windows EOL remediation processes, procedures, and best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and security vulnerabilities related to Windows operating systems.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior staff members and other IT teams as needed.
- Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers to obtain necessary support and resources for Windows OS remediation projects.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience as a Windows System Administrator, Windows Engineer, or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of various Windows operating systems, their life cycles, and supported hardware and software.
- Experience planning and executing Windows OS upgrades, migrations, and maintenance activities in enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of Windows OS architecture, Active Directory, Group Policy, and related technologies.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell for automation and system administration tasks.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server, or similar are preferred.
