Main Responsibilities
Physical Server & Storage Management:
- Address hardware, operating system & software/firmware issues of Tower, Rack & Blade Servers.
- Configure/manage servers using remote management consoles like IPMI, iDRAC, iLO etc.
- Execute BIOS updates and firmware updates for the server.
- Configure and maintain RAID in servers.
- Execute scheduled proactive support and performance-tuning activities.
Virtualization Platform Management:
- Configure / Maintain virtualization platforms vSphere ESXi and vCenter.
- Configure/maintain datastores, vSwitches and port groups
- Configure/maintain virtual machines and their operating systems.
- Scheduled proactive activities and patching support
- Manage virtual machine snapshots
- Configure/maintain backup and replication of VMs using various solutions (eg: Veeam Backup)
Windows Server Environment:
- O/S support Windows Server 2012, 2016 & 2019
- Configure / maintain Active Directory Domain Services and Group policy management
- Configure / maintain DNS, DHCP, File Server, Web Server (IIS) roles
- Configure / maintain Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).
- Perform operating system state backups as well as user/application data online/offline/cloud backups.
- Perform security updates and Operating System hardening activities.
Network Environment:
- Experience in managing firewall / UTM solutions from Sophos.
- Experience in managing L2 switches /VLAN- Management.
End user device management:
- Address hardware, operating system & software issues of computer systems.
- Office applications, basic business tools, authentication via active directory
- Network configuration management (LAN, Internet, VPN, IP/Soft Phones)
- Client-side security configurations (Firewall, Antivirus, DLP, VPN)
- Peripherals (printers, scanners) configurations support
- Scheduled proactive activities and patching support
- Client-side backup configurations support
- O/S support Windows (Specially Windows 10 & 11)
- O/S support Linux
- MAC OS management skill (Good to have)
- Application infrastructure- client-side support (Email, Office)
General Responsibilities:
- Maintain definitive library for OS, Applications, product guides, device firmware etc.
- Maintain and update configuration documents
- Maintain assets and software license / subscriptions
- Vendor co-ordination and support
- Maintain SLAs and do timely escalations.
- Report all incident/service/change requests in helpdesk tool.
- Provide after hour support in case of emergencies and occasional weekend maintenance
Skills:
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Proven experience as server admin or similar role
- Exceptional organizing and time-management skills
- Very good communication abilities
- Windows Server 2012/2016/2019 operating system management skills
- VMware virtualization management skill
