What does it mean to be a Weather Analyst at ZeroNorth
- Main task is to monitor your assigned fleets/ vessels and to provide timely and correct weather forecast, updates and safe weather routing expert advices to the Masters and/or Vessel Operators
- Daily check for any WSN ( weather safety notification) been triggered out for your assigned fleets / vessels and act upon accordingly
- Vessels in an adverse/extreme weather to be regularly (hourly , daily, bi-daily or else) monitored and weather advice/ update / forecasts/ etc to be provided.
- Upon issuing of Severe weather alert to ensure that NIL vessels will be affected. In case there are vessels is the proximity of the weather phenomena a proper, timely and accurate guidance to be rendered
- Specific Weather safety parameters for each Customer / Fleet to be well known and understood.
- Knowledge for the agreed service for each customer to be known and followed.
Key Responsibilities
- Using our algorithm-based weather routing technology, advise external and internal stakeholders on weather safe routing of vessels.
- Work as an Integrated part of the Team
- Be a direct link and trusted advisor to vessel operators/Masters on guiding for weather safe routing and/or optimize routes to take advantage of favorable weather to help reduce costs and cut CO2 emissions.
- Monitor and engage with our customers if vessels are heading towards bad weather
- Work in close collaboration with Sales and Customer Success on scaling sales of ZeroNorth services and solutions as domain experts.
- Give input and feedback to our product and tech teams on further development of services as SBM
- Report to the Head of Weather Advisory Services
- In case required provide a support and assist Voyage Optimization Team for Post voyage analysis, claims verification, route verifications, etc
- Working on shifts / duty roaster as required including Sat/Sun/Holidays
- Act as Substitute of Senior Weather Routing Advisor in his/her absence
Fluency in written and spoken English is required and some travel is expected.

You bring equivalent experience within oceanography or marine meteorology preferably coming from a similar role or previous experience as Navigating / Marine Officer.
