Job Description: Ward Boy
A Ward Boy is responsible for providing basic patient care services, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the hospital wards, and assisting the nursing staff and doctors in their day-to-day activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients in moving around the hospital and transporting them to various departments for tests and procedures
- Help in admitting and discharging patients
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the hospital wards, including changing bed sheets, cleaning and sanitizing the patient's room, and disposing of waste properly
- Assist the nursing staff and doctors in their day-to-day activities
- Monitor the patient's vital signs and report any changes to the nursing staff or doctors
- Provide basic care services such as feeding, bathing, and grooming patients
- Assist in maintaining the inventory of medical supplies and equipment in the ward
- Maintain records of patient care and treatment
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift patients and equipment
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Previous experience as a Ward Boy or similar role is preferred
