About the Job:
We aren't looking for just any traditional Visualization Engineer to join this team. We're looking for someone who takes data seriously, thrives in a rapid-growth, high-velocity environment. The ideal candidate will possess proven experience not only in building business intelligence solutions using Power BI (must have) but also experience with Power Platform development. This position will play a critical role in ensuring our data accuracy, security, and accessibility for business insights and decision-making.Responsibilities:
Collaborating with stakeholders to define the business layer and presentation layer of the BI model that is business-friendly and supports a self-service environment where appropriate.
Performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
Design, develop, and deploy custom business applications using Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
Integrate Power Platform solutions with other Microsoft products and third-party applications as required.
Developing and maintaining reports, dashboards, and data visualizations using Power BI.
Conducting ongoing monitoring of existing key reports to ensure data quality and integrity.
Providing subject matter expertise on systems, solutions, and reports built or supported by the team.
Document data models, report designs, and development processes to ensure knowledge transfer and maintainability of BI solutions.
Leading the design process from ideation to polished design, using sketches, wireframes, UX scenarios, and mockups to present ideas.
Ensuring a good user experience by using the applications being built and putting oneself in the shoes of the end user to drive improvement.
Working closely with the Data Engineering team to support data quality testing and ensuring data is fit for use.
Supporting governance over Power BI by documenting metrics, ensuring reports don't overlap and maintaining a clean library of reports for users.
Reviewing functional and design specifications to ensure full understanding of individual deliverables and expected outputs.
Clearly communicating requirements and translating them into technical requirements for execution.Requirements:
2-5 years of demonstrated experience in developing business intelligence solutions using Power BI, with a strong focus on data modeling, data visualization, and report development
Bachelor's or master's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Business or a related field
Experience in developing applications using Power Platform: PowerApps, Power Automate, etc
Proficiency in SQL, DAX, and M languages; familiarity with industry standard tools like Tabular Editor, DAX Studio, ALM Toolkit etc
Solid understanding of Big Data, Delta Lake, and Data Warehouse technologies with experience in Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, PySpark
Programming experience with Python (preferable) or any other languages.
Practical knowledge of Git, Azure DevOps, Azure Cloud and ability to work with Agile/Scrum methodologies
Relevant certifications and/or project portfolio preferred
