This role requires the candidate to work closely with the staff of clinics as well as patients. Understanding the importance of patient care is integral to this role. The candidate will be working in the US Healthcare industry and should have the ability to communicate and understand the needs of the clients and the patients thoroughly. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written are key to the role. Understanding of human anatomy, physiology and medical terminologies will be an added advantage.
The job responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following.
- Candidates will need to have the skills to understand new systems and EHRs. Learn how to navigate those systems and execute daily tasks.
- Candidates will need to understand the content of incoming faxes and properly triage them to the right place. They would need to assign urgency and provide detailed notes.
- Any request for medical records will need to be faxed over to the requesting party in a timely manner.
- Handle inbound and outbound calls for service requests related to documents.
- Coordinate tasks between the clinic and the back office staff.
- Ensuring faster billing of claims by maintaining an accurate profile in the system.
- Communicate with patients- checking their insurances and eligibility.
- Help patients schedule, reschedule appointments with available doctors or with queries pertaining to any other clinical information. Confirm the appointment prior to the actual appointment date. Follow up with patients for their wellness check.
- New patients outreach via emails and calls.
- Assist patients with documents and form filling.
- Submit any prior approval requests to insurance payers- online, fax or over the phone. Follow up on those requests and drive them to completion.
