Position Overview: The Video Editor will be responsible for editing and assembling recorded raw material into a suitable, finished product ready for broadcasting. The material may include camera footage, dialogue, sound effects, graphics, and special effects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of video production and editing techniques, a creative mindset, and the ability to bring a unique vision to our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Edit video content for various platforms including web, social media, and broadcast.
- Collaborate with the creative team to understand project scope and objectives.
- Review shooting script and raw material to create a shot decision list based on scenes value and contribution to continuity.
- Trim footage segments and put together the sequence of the film.
- Input music, dialogues, graphics, and effects.
- Create rough and final cuts.
- Ensure logical sequencing and smooth running.
- Continuously discover and implement new editing technologies and industry best practices to maximize efficiency.
- Manage and oversee all technical aspects of video recording and editing.
- Work closely with the marketing and content team to create video content that meets company standards and goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Film Studies, Cinematography, Digital Media, or a related field.
- Proven work experience as a Video Editor for [X] years.
- Solid experience with digital technology and editing software packages (e.g., Avid Media Composer, Lightworks, Premiere, After Effects, and Final Cut).
- Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio.
