Vice President - Technology Risk Management(TRM)

We're seeking a future team member for the role of Vice Presidentto join our Technology Risk Managementteam. This role is located in Pune, Maharashtra - HYBRID.

TRM is a second line of defense (2LOD) function, reporting to the Chief Risk Officer of BNY, that provides oversight and challenge to the company's Technology organization and related Line of businesses. The goal of TRM is to make sure that technology, cyber / information security, resiliency, data and technology third party risks are clearly understood by the first line of defense (1LOD), transparently reported through governance and managed within the defined risk appetite and risk management framework.

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Primarily responsible for providing oversight and challenge across the 1st line of defense and assessing technology risk elements in alignment with Technology Risk Management Framework and all applicable policies, standards and procedures
  • Establishes and continuously improves risk assessment processes and associated controls.
  • Perform review and oversight of technology high-level assessments (HLA), risk-and-control-self-assessment (RCSA), Evidence Based Controls Assessment (EBCA) and Risk appetite of the enterprise (Technology and Information Risk) for evaluating and representing adequate technology risk posture
  • Perform review of Technology, Information and Cyber related Policies, Procedures and Standards to uncover any potential or existing gaps or non-compliance with regulations or risk framework.
  • Perform periodic review and oversight of Technology Risk Management (TRM) related gaps, issues, risk acceptances, policy waivers, etc.
  • Actively contributes to the continuous improvement of team's processes through ongoing initiatives including solutions to automate, build efficiencies, and maintain consistency across deliveries
  • When needed, extend support to team members on different types of risk assessments and metrics oversight
  • Prepare or participate in the preparation of executive level reports for regulators and senior stakeholders
  • Applies influence to ensure the availability of technology risk input requirements, to build consensus on risk mitigation and remediation strategies among global and/or regional stakeholder groups.

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:

  • Bachelor s degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required
  • 5 to 8 years of conducting risk assessment required, experience with technology or financial services industry and relevant industry certifications (AWS/Azure/GCP, CCSA, CRISC, CISSP, CISM, CISA, ISO31000 etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience in communication with senior management along with excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills required
  • Demonstrated expertise in running risk assessments and reporting processes, understanding what is appropriate and aligns with Technology Risk and ability to drive best practices into the wider organization
  • Strong communication skills to articulate risk related topics clearly across stakeholders.
  • Ability to take ownership of work and drive them forward in a collaborative manner.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple competing priorities and deliver under pressure
  • JIRA, Service Now, SharePoint, Confluence & Advanced PowerPoint skills a plus
