We are seeking an experienced Vice President - Category to lead and drive category management for our FMCG division. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of category strategies, P&L management, and a track record of delivering growth in the FMCG sector. This role will involve overseeing product categories, shaping strategic direction, and ensuring the profitability and market share expansion of the assigned categories.
Key Responsibilities
- Category Strategy: Develop and execute long-term category strategies to drive growth and profitability for the FMCG division.
- P&L Management: Full ownership of the P&L for assigned categories, ensuring revenue targets, margins, and overall profitability are met.
- Market Analysis: Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and consumer insights to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
- Product Management: Work closely with product teams to manage the product lifecycle, from ideation to launch, ensuring alignment with market needs.
- Sales & Marketing Collaboration: Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop promotional strategies, pricing, and positioning for the category.
- Vendor & Supplier Relationships: Negotiate with key vendors and suppliers to secure favorable terms, ensuring the quality and cost-effectiveness of products.
- Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a high-performing category management team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
- Performance Tracking: Monitor and analyze category performance, creating actionable insights and making data-driven decisions to enhance profitability.
- Cross-Functional Coordination: Work closely with supply chain, logistics, and finance teams to ensure seamless execution of category strategies.
Key Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Minimum of 10-15 years of experience in FMCG, with a strong focus on category management.
- Proven track record of successful P&L management, including revenue growth and margin expansion.
- Strong understanding of consumer behavior, market trends, and competitive landscapes in FMCG.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to inspire and drive results.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
