Looking for veterinarians interested in ophthalmology and wishing to specialize. M.V.Sc. Surgery, medicine or BVSc
2 years of experience will be eligible for a residency and fresh B.V.Sc graduates will be eligible for an internship in ophthalmology.
Clinical Duties:
- Perform detailed ophthalmic examinations, diagnostics, and treatments for a variety of species, including companion animals, livestock, and exotic pets.
- Assist in and perform ophthalmic surgeries under the supervision of board-certified ophthalmologists.
- Manage and care for hospitalized ophthalmology patients.
- Participate in emergency ophthalmology on-call rotations.
Educational Activities:
- Engage in academic courses and continuing education seminars relevant to veterinary ophthalmology.
- Attend and contribute to weekly rounds, journal clubs, and case discussions.
- Prepare and present case reports, research findings, and lectures to peers and veterinary staff.
Research and Scholarly Activities:
- Conduct clinical or basic research projects in the field of ophthalmology, aiming for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
- Collaborate with other researchers and contribute to the advancement of veterinary ophthalmic knowledge.
- Present research findings at national and international veterinary conferences.
Teaching Responsibilities:
- Mentor and instruct veterinary students, interns, and technicians in clinical and surgical ophthalmology.
- Provide educational demonstrations and seminars to enhance the ophthalmology knowledge base of the veterinary team.
Administrative Duties:
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures and clinical protocols for the ophthalmology department.
- Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to strategic planning and quality improvement initiatives.
