We are looking for an experienced Vertica DBA to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining our Vertica database system to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security. This is a full-time position based in India.

Responsibilities

• Manage and maintain the Vertica database system to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security
• Perform regular database maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, and upgrades
• Monitor and optimize database performance using tools like Vertica Management Console and Performance Advisor
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues as they arise
• Collaborate with developers to design and implement database schema changes
• Develop and maintain database documentation, including data dictionaries and standard operating procedures
• Ensure compliance with data security and privacy regulations
• Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for the database system

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field
• 6-8 years of experience as a Vertica DBA
• Strong understanding of Vertica architecture and internals
• Experience with database design, implementation, and maintenance
• Experience with Vertica-specific tools such as Management Console and Performance Advisor
• Proficiency in SQL and other database query languages
• Experience with database security and compliance standards
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems
