A Brief Overview
The UX Researcher will use human-centered design principles to drive improvements and generate new products and services that are intuitive, accessible, and seamless. Responsibilities include developing a deep understanding of our customers and internal colleagues, conducting user experience (UX) research, collaborating with cross-functional teams, inspiring change, delivering oral and written presentations, and sharing actionable insights.
What You Will Do
Identify appropriate UX research method and lead UX research studies (e.g., usability testing, in-depth interviews, surveys, etc.) with UX Designers, Engineers, Product Managers, and business stakeholders, incorporating innovative methods and best practices
Gather and analyze qualitative and quantitative data to inform product roadmaps, requirements and design decisions
Synthesize data into actionable insights and recommendations with insight from leadership
Translate research insights into personas, user journeys and other artifacts to help stakeholders empathize with and understand users
Champion the user throughout the product development life cycle, advocating for user-centered design principles
Provide thought leadership and collaborate closely influencing designers, product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate user insights into the product development process
Own screening, recruiting and scheduling study participants
Education Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), Human Factors (Industrial Engineering), Psychology, Sociology, or a related field desired
Experience Qualifications
Typically 2+ years of professional experience in the enterprise or other complex software space, as a usability engineer or user experience researcher
Typically 2+ years of experience with evaluative and generative research
Skills and Abilities
Knowledge of research methods through all phases of software development (including usability testing, interviews, contextual inquiries, persona development, etc.).
Ability to formulate clear and understandable presentations and present/communicate findings to internal leadership teams
Effective presentation, verbal and written communication skills, and ability to facilitate collaborative sessions
Manage projects and meet deadlines
Creative problem-solving skills
Ability to navigate stakeholder relationships
Ability to quickly learn different areas of the business and adapt as we grow rapidly into existing and new areas of the PEO business
Excellent communication skills to thoughtfully give and receive feedback
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
