Position Overview
Autodesk has an exciting opportunity for a results-driven U.S. Federal and State Tax Manager to play a meaningful role on our global tax team. You will report to our Senior Manager of Tax Reporting and Compliance and work with internal partners and external advisors to manage the tax aspects of the tax reporting cycle to maximize tax efficiency and accuracy. Roles And Responsibilities
- Assist with U.S. tax compliance associated with new sales transaction models, such as residency certificates, W-9 and 1042 forms.
- Support quarterly SEC financial statement tax accounting with an emphasis on those book/tax differences driven by new sales transaction models, such as commissions, withholding taxes, tax credits and revenue recognition.
- Collaborate in the collection of pertinent data for the execution of U.S. Federal/State corporate income tax provision and compliance preparation.
- Assist in the timely preparation and filing of US federal and state income tax returns.
- Review direct sale accounting transaction methods and recommend associated tax method changes and best practices.
- Collaborate with worldwide tax team members to ensure consistencies across income tax, indirect tax and payroll tax.
- Effectively communicate with internal stakeholders in accounting, payroll treasury and accounts payable, as well as external communication with federal and state tax agents, as necessary.
- Organized method of workpaper and correspondence retention, with an emphasis on version control.
- Timely identification of tax matters that require escalation; recommend an escalation path appropriate to management and monitor timely resolution.
- Draft documentation related to tax positions taken on specific sales transactions and required disclosures.
- Research and analyze the latest developments in U.S. Federal, State, and international tax legislation as they apply to income tax and advise accordingly.
- Identify and support process improvements to increase overall efficiency.
- Manage and support tax audits/notices including liaising with tax authorities and preparing necessary documentation and replies.
- Assist in preparation, filing, payments of extension and estimated taxes.
Minimum Qualification
- Chartered Accountant
- Work experience with Big Four accounting firm.
- Proficient knowledge of Longview, Onesource, CCH, BNA, S4Hana/SAP, Alteryx and SharePoint systems a plus.
- At least 10 years of work experience in U.S. Federal/State Corporate Income Tax.
