Full time role with the US Based client
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Processing Manager to oversee and manage the payroll operations for non-profit entities within the United States. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll processing within a non-profit setting, ensuring full compliance with federal and state regulations. This role also involves managing employee benefits, conducting 401k/403b audits, reviewing timesheets, and collaborating closely with HR and Finance teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Management: Process payroll accurately and promptly for salaried and hourly employees, contractors, and volunteers, including managing off-cycle payroll runs as necessary.
- Timesheet Review: Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance of timesheets with organizational policies and procedures.
- Coordination with HR and Operations: Address any discrepancies or issues identified during timesheet review, and collaborate with HR and Finance teams to maintain accurate employee data.
- Employee Benefits Management: Administer employee benefits programs, including enrollment, changes, and terminations.
- Compliance: Ensure payroll processes comply with federal, state, and local regulations, including tax withholding, reporting, and remittance.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory changes affecting payroll processing and implement necessary adjustments to ensure ongoing compliance.
- Employee Inquiries: Serve as the primary point of contact for employees regarding payroll-related matters and benefits inquiries, providing timely and accurate resolutions.
- Audit Coordination: Manage and coordinate 401k/403b audits, including gathering documentation and facilitating auditor inquiries.
- Financial Reconciliation: Work closely with Finance and Accounting teams to reconcile payroll accounts and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- Policy Development: Assist in developing and implementing payroll policies, procedures, and best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of six years of experience in payroll processing, preferably within a non-profit environment.
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Paylocity) and MS Excel.
- Strong understanding of federal, state, and local payroll regulations, including tax laws and reporting requirements.
- Experience with 401k/403b administration and audits (preferred).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High level of integrity and discretion when handling confidential information.
