Position Overview: The Human Resources- Benefits Executive/Senior Benefits Executive will be responsible for providing comprehensive support in benefits administration. This includes managing and overseeing benefits for U.S. and Canada employees, addressing benefits-related issues, responding to employee inquiries via email and phone, and executing various assigned duties and projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Qversee and manage new hire benefits enrollments, benefits annual open enrollments and Qualified Life Events for employees in the U.S. and Canada.
- Efficiently manage the benefits mailbox, addressing inquiries from both internal and external sources.
- Coordinate and manage tasks and communications related to benefits projects.
- Ensure the financial accuracy of health insurance premiums, generate necessary reports, manage data, and resolve employee benefits issues.
- Liaise with vendors and brokers to resolve ongoing issues and plan future projects.
- Reconcile monthly health insurance premiums and process related payments.
- Utilize database and V-lookup reports to reconcile new hires, terminations, and other changes.
- Investigate benefits-related variances, identify their causes, and collaborate with internal or external partners for corrective action.
- Conduct regular audits of enrollments, eligibility, and HSA/FSA funding on a monthly or quarterly basis.
- Ensure compliance with U.S. benefits requirements as per IRS regulations.
Administrative and Miscellaneous Responsibilities:
- Maintain benefits systems and generate reports as needed.
- Perform word processing, spreadsheet creation, faxing, photocopying, and scanning tasks.
- Escalate complex or sensitive issues to the Benefits Manager.
- Participate in departmental and company-wide initiatives.
- Execute additional related duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Proficiency in computer and technical skills, with expertise in Microsoft Office products, including PowerPoint and Excel; experience with HRIS and benefits databases is preferred.
- Demonstrated project and team management or leadership experience.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Strong planning and priority-setting skills, with the capability to manage multiple complex projects under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Excellent analytical skills with in-depth knowledge of plan designs.
- Understanding of benefits contract language.
- Comprehensive knowledge of all relevant federal and state regulations, including ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, and Section 125 plans.
- Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
- MBA in Human Resources is preferred but not required.
- Two to four years of experience in benefits or employee benefits administration.
