OVERVIEW

Job Title: Purchase Manager

Department: Purchase

Grade: Managerial

Workplace Type: On-Site at GP's site in Padra, GJ

Minimum Required Experience: 15+ years

Overall Responsibility: Planning, negotiating and fulfilling timely requirement for certain categories of RMs, PMs.

QUALIFICATIONS

SAP experience is required.

Science graduate candidate with material management degree is preferred.

15+ years of purchasing and managerial experience in the chemical field

Strong written and verbal communication skills

JOB DESCRIPTION

The ideal candidate will have strong prior experience and knowledge of sourcing and procurement in a similar chemical field for variety of RM's and PM's in a cost efficient and timely manner. Knowledge and experience in SAP is a must. You will play an integral role in ensuring efficient operations at the Grand Polycoats manufacturing site.

Technical Functions:

Plan for procurement of RMs & engineering material based on daily/monthly planning forecast report & past month's consumption data.

Negotiation of competitive prices to maximize savings

Sourcing new suppliers for existing RMs or sourcing vendors as per requirement of R&D

Ensure timely receipt of materials to avoid stock out situation (follow up with suppliers andtransporters)

Inventory control as per set norms.

Monitor and address RM quality issues

Meeting with suppliers to understand new product offerings

Supervising overall Purchase & RM Store activities in plant.

Ensuring purchase team's role in factory-level scrap management and optimizing the same

Managerial Functions:

Analyze market scenario with respect to foreign currency fluctuation, supply-demand and update HOD for taking strategic purchase decisions

New vendor assessment & selection as per set criteria jointly with R&D

Annual vendor evaluation & vendor performance intimation

Monitor non-moving stock on quarterly basis and engage in discussions with R&D/QA for decisions on rework/disposal

Training employees on SOPs & ensuring 100% compliance on the same

Risk Assessment & management

Creating a positive working culture to ensure team and company spirit.

Responsible for administrative cost control for the department

Administrative Functions:

Process complete shipping documents of Import consignments with CHA/Finance.

Compiling data for quarterly MRM
