Administration and support of Sun Lifes Unix/Linux server and Container environment
Implementation of routine technical fixes, and assistance in completing complex changes with the guidance of senior technical staff
Remediation planning for routine changes and standard validation routine changes
Recommendation of technical fixes and remediation planning for changes
Work with a team supporting, troubleshooting, monitoring, repairing routine issues and other day-to-day tasks associated with maintaining the stability, availability and reliability of server environments
Work within standardized guidelines for support and assist in the application of corporate IT standards
Independent resolution of minor server issues, with clear escalation path for major or complex systems to senior staff for assistance and signoff
Assist in change planning and documentation of changes as well as any validation plan creation required. Implementation and execution of approved changes
Configure, manage, maintain and continuously improve server, application and system performance, based on senior technical staff recommendations
Mandatory Skills
2-4 years of experience in Unix infrastructure support role.
Strong and extensive supporting servers running the Red Hat Linux operating system and servers running in the AWS cloud.
Experience building and maintaining Open Shift / Kubernetes / Docker container infrastructure
Experience in code management tools including: Ansible, Bitbucket
Software development and/or scripting experience using Python, YAML, JSON with a focus on Infrastructure, Tools and/or DevOps.
Unix/Red Hat Linux server support
Proficient scripting, automation skills and experience with configuration management tools including: Ansible, Bitbucket
Administration experience with Veritas Info Scale (aka Veritas Cluster Server)
Familiarity with IBM Power Systems, AIX and Solaris.
