Role And Responsibilities
- Develop and execute flight test plans for evaluating new software features, electronics, sensors, and payloads.
- Handle mechanical and electrical integration of new hardware components on UAVs designated for R&D and testing purposes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with drone components both in-house and in field operations. Ensure that the fleet is maintained and ready for flight tests.
- Collaborate in the definition and validation of customer workflows to enhance user experience.
- Work closely with the product management team to integrate customer feedback and feature requests into the product development lifecycle.
- Stay informed about industry trends to propose innovative features and improvements.
Experience/Skills
- Experience in flight testing and piloting small UAS or RC aircraft, including both fixed-wing and multirotor systems.
- Proficient in the use of flight-planning and ground control station software.
- Knowledge of various UAV platforms such as Pixhawk, DJI, Ardupilot, and PX4.
- Skilled in integrating, operating, and tuning autopilots across various unmanned vehicles.
- Familiarity with electrical test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes) and various UAS sensors.
- Hands-on experience with electro-mechanical systems, including assembly, disassembly, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Desirable Skills
- Understanding of RF communications fundamentals.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, JavaScript, or Python.
