Role: Two-Wheeler Design Engineer
Experience: 6-12 Years
Required Skills/Experience:
- Experience in Body Engineering from a leading motorcycle industry
- Experience in design and development of two-wheeler exteriors from concept through production
- Generate CAD models, detailed drawings, and conduct the analysis required to support the subsystems through the release cycle
- Very good experience in plastic part design, development of Class-A surface, Benchmarking of competitive designs, maintain BoM, etc.
- Practice proper modelling techniques which allows part/assembly to be easily modified
- Analyze existing and new designs to identify and implement cost reduction opportunities
- Understanding and basic knowledge of component manufacturing processes including sheet metal, casting, forging, machining, stamping, and complex plastic component moulding
- Work with system engineers, development engineers, and development technicians to support the definition of project goals and detailed system specifications
- Establish a reasonable project development schedule from concept to production implementation in line with overall business requirements
- Organize and conduct design reviews with internal teams to ensure adequate input and involvement from all engineering and functional groups. Coordination with vendors.
- Good understanding of GD&T, FMEA, DFM, dimensional tolerance stack-ups, FEA, CFD
- Extensive experience and proficiency with UG-NX and can design complex components
- Exhibits outstanding interpersonal skills, able to work in a team environment, quality & time focused, independently prioritize the completion of tasks, resolution of issues, etc.
- Experience with packaging of components, layout, etc.
- Experience designing parts as per strength, weight, and cost targets
- Japanese Communication Skills would be an advantage
- Microsoft software including Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
