As a Turn Mill Operator, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining turn mill machines to produce high-quality precision components. Your role will involve working with a variety of materials and interpreting engineering drawings to ensure accurate production according to specifications. Attention to detail, technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and quality are essential for success in this role.
Set up and prepare turn mill machines for operation by installing and adjusting tooling, fixtures, and workpieces.
- Operate turn mill machines to perform turning, milling, drilling, boring, and other machining operations.
Monitor machine operations to ensure proper functioning and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to determine machining requirements and specifications.
Select appropriate cutting tools and machining parameters based on material type, size, and complexity of the part.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks on machines, including cleaning, lubricating, and replacing worn or damaged parts.
Inspect finished components to verify conformance to quality standards and make adjustments as necessary to correct any defects.- Troubleshoot issues with machines, tools, or processes to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others.
- Document production activities, including machine settings, tooling changes, and quality inspection results.
