- The successful candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining various machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments
- The Machinist/Assistant Machinist will work closely with engineering and production teams to ensure the timely and accurate completion of projects while adhering to quality standards and safety protocols
- Key Responsibilities:Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and specifications to determine machining requirements
- Set up and operate conventional and CNC machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, and drill presses
- Select appropriate cutting tools, attachments, and materials for machining operations
- Perform machining operations including turning, milling, drilling, grinding, and boring to produce parts within specified tolerances
- Inspect finished parts to ensure conformance to quality standards and specifications
- Make adjustments to machine settings as necessary to maintain product quality and accuracy
- Maintain machine tools and equipment in good working condition by performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting mechanical issues
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and other team members to optimize machining processes and improve product design for manufacturability
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others
- Document work performed, including machine setups, tool changes, and production records
