Job Description
This job position is for a thermal-mechanical engineering role with focus on thermal design. The thermal engineer will work in a cross-functional project team to deliver the next generation of industry-standard server platforms. Primary responsibility is to ensure product functionality and meeting standard thermal specifications. The engineer will be involved in server design, simulation, testing, and validation.
Education And Experience Required
Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering with a minimum of 3-5 years of industry or research experience in thermal-mechanical design with a focus on server electronics cooling. Industry or laboratory experience in Thermal, Vibration, and Acoustic Testing is highly desirable. Good experience with heatsink design selection of thermal interface material (TIM) and cooling fans is a must.
Skills
- Good understanding of heat transfer and fluid flow
- Basic knowledge of electronics cooling, usage of FloTHERM CFD, and ability to interpret CFD results.
- Basic understanding of PCB design, electronics package thermal characterization, a system-level thermal design for servers using heatsink, cold plates, TIM, fans
- Basic understanding of manufacturing and quality issues
- Knowledge of root-cause analysis and good analytical /logical problem-solving skills.
- Excited about technology and has the desire to learn new tasks and technologies.
- To work independently with minimal guidance and a team player
- Good verbal, analytical, and writing skills with fluency in English and local language.
