About the Theatre Teacher role

The Theatre Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging theatre education across specific grade levels, working under the guidance of the Theatre Lead Specialist. This role requires a passion for the performing arts, a commitment to fostering student creativity, and a collaborative approach to teaching.

Specific responsibilities

• Implement theatre curriculum, adapting lessons to meet the needs and interests of diverse student groups.
• Teach theatre classes, focusing on performance skills, dramatic expression, and technical aspects of theatre.
• Assist in school theatrical productions, supporting students in various roles, including acting, stagecraft, and direction.
• Collaborate with other educators and team members to integrate theatre into interdisciplinary projects.
• Provide a safe and inclusive environment that nurtures creativity and respects diversity among students.
• Support students in developing confidence, teamwork, and problem-solving skills through theatre activities.
• Communicate with parents regarding student progress and achievements in theatre.

Preferred Qualifications/Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts, Drama Education, or a related field.
• Experience in theatre education or a related role, preferably working with children.
• Ability to engage and inspire students, encouraging a love for theatre and performance.
• Strong organizational skills and a willingness to assist in managing events and productions.
• Ability to work with children in the age group of 6 - 14 years
