Job Description

Noitavonne is looking for Textile Engineer Intern to join our dynamic team and embark on a rewarding career journey.Research: Conduct in-depth research on historical textiles, including their origins, manufacturing techniques, cultural significance, and conservation challenges.

Analysis: Use scientific methods and specialized equipment to analyze textiles, such as examining fibers, dyes, weaves, and other material properties.

Documentation: Create detailed records of textiles, including condition assessments, photographs, and written documentation of their historical and physical characteristics.

Conservation Planning: Develop and implement conservation strategies and treatment plans to preserve and protect textiles from deterioration.

Conservation Techniques: Perform conservation treatments on textiles, which may involve cleaning, stabilization, repair, and preventive measures to ensure long-term preservation.

Collaboration: Collaborate with curators, researchers, scientists, and other conservation professionals to support exhibitions, research projects, and public education initiatives.

Public Engagement: Contribute to public outreach and education by presenting findings, giving talks, workshops, and contributing to exhibitions or publications.

Research Funding: Seek and secure research grants, funding, or sponsorship for textile conservation projects and research endeavors.

Professional Development: Stay updated with advancements in conservation techniques, material science, and textile history through ongoing education and training.

Qualifications:

Advanced degree (master's or Ph.D.) in Textile Conservation, Conservation Science, Art History, Material Culture Studies, or a related field.
Strong expertise in textile conservation principles, practices, and techniques.
Proficiency in conducting research, analysis, and documentation of historical textiles.
Knowledge of scientific methods and equipment used in textile analysis and conservation.
Experience in developing and implementing conservation treatment plans.
Strong attention to detail, precision, and manual dexterity required for delicate conservation work.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate with colleagues, share research findings, and engage with the public.
Project management skills to plan, execute, and oversee conservation projects.
