Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Tendering & Estimation Engineer with substantial experience in EPC projects, particularly within the Oil & Gas industry. The ideal candidate should possess a strong background in mechanical or chemical engineering, coupled with expertise in tendering and estimation processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review tender documents and understand project scope, contractual requirements, and technical specifications.
- Prepare comprehensive pre-bid queries to clarify technical and commercial aspects of tender documents.
- Conduct pre-bid site visits to gather necessary information for accurate estimation and scope understanding.
- Generate Bill of Quantities (BOQ) or Material Take Off (MTO) based on project requirements.
- Prepare Requests for Quotation (RFQ) for bought out items and secure competitive quotes from vendors.
- Develop detailed cost estimates for projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company standards.
- Coordinate with internal departments such as engineering, procurement, and construction teams to gather necessary inputs for tendering and estimation.
- Utilize knowledge of process equipment (static and rotary), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), and other process packages used in process industries.
- Ensure compliance with project timelines and deadlines as per tender requirements.
- Provide support during technical and commercial negotiations with clients and subcontractors.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Proven experience (4-12 years) in tendering and estimation roles within EPC companies, specifically in the Oil & Gas sector.
- Strong understanding of process equipment, site construction activities, and project execution methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
- Proficiency in relevant software tools for estimation and MS Office Suite.
- Familiarity with international standards and regulations applicable to EPC projects in the Oil & Gas industry.
