We are seeking a dynamic
Tendering Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise in
Electrical Engineering with strong
sales acumen. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders while working closely with the sales and engineering teams to secure new business opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and analyze tender documents, specifications, and requirements to develop comprehensive technical proposals.
- Prepare and submit competitive tender bids, ensuring all deadlines are met and tenders comply with company and client requirements.
- Collaborate with sales teams to align proposals with customer needs and company offerings.
- Estimate material, labor, and project costs accurately, ensuring profitability and feasibility.
- Conduct technical assessments and risk analysis for tender submissions.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain necessary quotations and project details.
- Ensure all tender documents, including drawings, specifications, and commercial terms, are in line with client expectations.
- Participate in technical and sales meetings with clients, offering technical support during contract negotiations.
- Keep up to date with industry trends, standards, and technologies related to electrical systems and sales strategies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in tendering, estimating, or proposal preparation within the electrical engineering sector.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, standards, and components.
- Excellent sales and negotiation skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Experience in cost estimation and risk assessment for tenders.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and tendering software/tools.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with attention to detail.
Preferred
- Experience in sales or business development roles related to electrical engineering.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or other engineering design software.
- Understanding of procurement and supply chain processes.
