Teleconsultant Medical Doctor

1. MedLumos Pvt Ltd (The Company) is a for-profit social enterprise that aims to leverage technology to improve access to Primary and Specialist OPD care for the rural and underserved communities in India. The Company provides teleconsultation services through company run rural teleclinics as well as for Partners / NGOs.

Potential teleconsultant doctor should have good clinical and communication skills and understanding to provide care through remote modes understanding the patients clinical and economic condition.

Job Description:

2. Doctors should have ability to speak fluently in Oriya and take history and communicate medical advice in Oriya.

3. Nurses/ Paramedics will screen patients prior to Doctor's consultation, enter details in Electronic Medical Records) EMR and inform doctor / book appointments for consultation. Nurse /Paramedic will be available on call to assist the doctors during the consultation.

4. Doctors are required to provide teleconsultation services to patients through the MedLumos portal / Partner Helpline / Telephone calls as required.

5. All patient details will be maintained in EMR. EMR of the patient can be accessed by the doctors on the partner platform for a consultation.

6. Doctors will make themselves familiar with and follow all the procedures as per Telemedicine Practice Guidelines of India 2020.

7. Doctors will enter on the EMR platform, within 10 mins of completion of a consult, proper clinical notes, the diagnosis, prescription and advice given. Doctor will also explain the same to the patient and / or Nurse.

8. Nurses will reach out to the concerned GP for patient care clarifications over the registered EMR platform / call centre only.

9. Our patients are from Rural / under-served communities and affordability will be the guiding factor in all activities / decision making.

10.Doctors will follow Company SoPs, Treatment guidelines and policies. They will make themselves available for orientation / training activities organised by the company.

11.Doctor should have a laptop computer and a location with broadband internet connectivity (Min 2 Mbps) to provide teleconsultation. He/She should be conversant with basic operation of computers, using EMR software and accessing websites on the internet. (On boarding training and support for the the specific platforms used by the company will be given)

Working hours

12. Doctor will commit to being available for a minimum 1 hour in the morning (Preferably 9.00am to 10 AM) and 2 hours in the evening Preferably 5pm to 7 pm). Exact shift timings negotiable. However doctors must be free to take call during the committed timings

13. Service agreement / Appointment letter will mention shift timings as discussed at the time of appointment.

14.In case of urgent/emergency calls (which are rare) Nurses may contact outside shift timings too between 9.00 am to 9.00 pm. Doctors must attend to such calls within 10 mins

15. Sundays / Holidays: Our services remain open on Sundays which sees the more footfalls.

16.Doctor will get one weekly day off on a predetermined weekday on a mutually accepted day.

17. Holidays /leave: There will be 10 days of notified holidays and 20 days of earned leave per year. A maximum of 10 days of leave can be availed at a stretch.

18.Notice Period: 1 month for either party

Qualifications:

19.Should be an allopathy doctor with MBBS or equivalent foreign medical degree and Registered Medical Practitioner with the NMC or one of the state medical councils.

20.Should have minimum 2 years experience post registration and provide proof of working independently in a clinical setting with proficiency in communicating with patients (Hospital, clinics, government medical setup etc)

21. Please attach the following certificates - MBBS Degree certificate, National /State medical Council registration certificate and FMGE pass certificate (For foreign medical graduate)

22.Doctor must have completed the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines online course or undertake to complete the same within 15 days at their own expense. Please attached certificate of already completed the course. (https://doctorguru.com/register-TPG-course.asp)

23. Additional experience in teleconsultation in the past will be given preference.

24.Language proficiency: We currently work with communities that speak in Kannada, Hindi, Oriya, Tamil and Telugu. Please mention proficiency of languages. Those with multi language proficiency will be given preference.

Renumeration:

25.A fixed retainer fee plus workload based incentive model:

Retainer: (Upto 250 consults or less per month; avg 10 consults/day)

Rs 20,000/ PM / 3 hour shift ( teleconsultation only)

Workload based incentive:

Rs 70 per consults for every consult over 250 consults in a month.
