- Must have 3-7 years working experience in SAW, SMAW, TIG & MIG welding, NDT, HT, Grit blasting, Balancing and Assembly.
- Work experience on CNC machining, CNC programming, Conventional machines like Lathe , Boring , Milling , Drilling, are added advantage.
- Daily up keep of Machines and ability to detect the performance variance of machines.
- Ability to use precision measuring instruments.
- Computer literacy (Specifically MS office/Lotus Notes)
- Good communication skills verbal and written (including technical writing)
- Ability to analyze scopes, schedules, specifications, technical drawings, manuals and other documents.

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/COMPETENCIES

- Effectively interact with shop supervisor and shop engineer to implement a coordinated plan covering scheduling and
- Service activities.
- Operate all Welding machines, Heat treatment unit, Grit blasting, Rotor wash and Balancing machines in the most efficient way, meeting the Quality & Delivery requirements as per Specs & Schedule.
- As part of cross functional responsibilities, Operate, Conventional machines, CNC machines, Tool setter etc, as assigned by Shop Supervisor.
- Perform Inspections using Measuring instruments, Hardness testing machines, Concentricity checks, MPI and FPI.
- Perform actual Disassembly, Inspection and Assembly work associated with shop overhaul and repair of turbo machinery as part of a team committed to safety, quality and cost effectiveness.
- Operate, Overhead Cranes, Forklift, Pallet truck, Hydraulic Jack, Band saw, Bench grinding, Diesel Generator and Air Compressor.
- Adhere to all the HSE procedures of the company and Statutory requirements, including use of relevant PPE s, JHS a and Elliott Safety policies.
- Ensure that all work is completed in a safe manner and compliant with all current legislation (inc. Safety, Environmental, Employment etc.) under direction of shop supervisor.
- Ensure that all work completed under their control complies with Elliott best practices.
- Ensure that all work completed under their control is recorded accurately as per Procedures/ Standards.
- Read Drawings, Process sheets, Work Instructions and carry out operations accordingly.
- Adhere to Daily maintenance of machines and plan to hand over machines for Monthly / Annual preventive maintenance.
- Selection & application of appropriate Cutting Tools, Drill Jigs, Fixtures, Work holding devices.
- Use of KAIZEN to consistently improve Safety, Quality, Productivity, 5S, Cost etc.
- Continual use of Statistical processes in the shop floor for improvements.
- Provide training to fellow employees.
- Conduct themselves in a manner befitting a professional organization.
- Ensure that all Technical & Quality reports are completed promptly and reported to Supervisor.
- Ensure that all company records are updated relating to work performed.
- Follow company and office procedures in the execution of all works.
