Hi I'm Nelson the CEO and Co-Founder at HowNow Im looking for a Technical Writer to join us.
Day-to-day tasks will include
- Youll develop the technical documentation style guide and streamline the documentation process(DDLC implementations, single-sourcing) with a focus on the customer needs
- Youll define the content strategy and information architecture and create and build an effective customer support knowledge base from the ground up for our product.
- Youll develop and organise a product knowledge base for HowNow's internal stakeholders like Product, Development, QA, Customer Success, Sales and the Marketing teams.
- Youll collaborate with the QA and support teams to triage internally and externally reported issues and perform exploratory testing.
- Youll designing and writing documentations for user guides, FAQs, instruction manuals, installation guides and quick reference guides.
- Youll craft content by translating user needs into written documentation, but also through alternative content forms such as video, interactive tutorials, and community interactions
- You'll use tools like Freshdesk, Confluence, Jira, Clickup, and Google Docs
The key things that we will be looking for in applicants
- You have Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- You have 4-6 years of experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in the technology or software industry.
- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- You have strong understanding of technical concepts and the ability to convey them in simple terms.
- You are proficient in using documentation tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Adobe Acrobat, Confluence, MadCap Flare).
- You are familiar with software development and coding concepts.
- You have attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- You have ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- You have experience with content management systems (CMS) and version control systems (e.g., Git) is mandatory
