Your role and responsibilities
Developing and maintaining the PAEN standard solution for hardware based on evolving customer and market needs, applicable international standards and taking into consideration new technologies as our product offering evolves (e.g. Select I/O)
Collaborating with the Engineering Tool owner, identifying and participating in the functional definition of engineering tools needed to increase the engineering efficiency and reduce the design and testing time
Acting as the hardware technical expert within organization and providing technical advice to the project engineering team, tendering team and management
Providing input to the tendering organization to update the engineering estimating models to reflect efficiency improvements, new technology and new standard solutions as they evolve
Engaging with procurement and logistics teams to ensure the best HW components sourcing is applied and meets the technical requirements
Participating in technical stage gate reviews during pre-tendering and tendering to ensure tenders are following the standard set of solutions and authorize if any deviations are required
Qualifications For The Role
- Bachelor's degree in electrical/electronic engineering discipline
- Extensive experience (more than 5 years) in Front End Engineering Design (FEED), detailed design, implementation, test, installation, commissioning and start-up of an integrated control and safety system and Process Power Management (PPM) system in the oil and gas, chemicals and refining or power and water industry with focus on efficiency improvements
- Experience with the ABB 800xA System including power and grounding requirements, field cabling requirements and field wiring typicals for IO signals, equipment, installation, connection, power-up and site acceptance testing
- Experience working with internal and external panel shops performing cabinet fabrication and testing
- Knowledge from applicable industry and electrical standards such as UL, ATEX, CSA. etc
- Experience in working in international environments with different cultures and languages and managing stakeholders of varying management levels
