Technical Product Manager
POSITION PURPOSE:
Subject-matter expert to bridge the gap between the product and technical side
to large scale enterprise software and technology in support of Inspire Brands digital platforms mobile and web channel implementing service-oriented architecture. Product Manager plays a pivotal role in owning vision, strategy, and prioritization of new technical features and / or enhancements for consistently redesigning / refactoring a product to adapt to our restaurant brand needs by working closely with stakeholders and leadership.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Effectively partner with business product manager, technology development & delivery teams, QA teams through gathering detailed requirements, presenting the business value, documenting requirements in JIRA / Confluence to deliver product roadmap.
- Track project development process using Jira and accountable for shaping team's Objective and Key Results (OKR)
- Facilitate release planning, sprint planning and demos with stakeholders and drive continuous improvement across the product life cycle.
- Collaborate in a geographically distributed teams in agile processes. Relates openly / comfortably with diverse groups of people & work with leads to delegate tasks to the team members.
- Ensure the deliverable meets relevant security, privacy & compliance standards & make product decisions that drive value daily.
- Interact with other teams within the Product / Platform as part of synchronization ceremonies and scrum of scrum to implement team tasks.
- Condenses complex technical concepts into non-technical language for stakeholders and translate business goals into product strategy and product priorities to the development team, other matrixed teams, and third-party partners.
- Drive engagement with third parties to support delivery of objectives on continuous improvement across the product lifecycle.
- Identifies goals, metrics, and analytics to determine product value and make recommendations and refinements to the product backlog based on learnings.
- Manages cross functional team and stakeholder expectations to execute on product strategy and educate to requestors to determine prioritization based on tangible benefits and / or user experience.
TECHINICAL SKILLS:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or information technology or engineering related disciplines, or equivalent work experience.
- 8 - 12 years of relevant as a technical product manager experience
- Strong hold on Java Microservices architecture and Product management.
- Product management skills with good understanding of Customer Journey and Customer Exposure.
- Experience leading Agile Scrum team and technical product management team in large scale technology platforms in cloud infrastructure.
Good to have:
- Retail or Restaurant domain Knowledge, Cloud Experience will be an add-On.
- Experience in E-commerce Engineering of restaurant or retail industry is a plus.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Good knowledge of distributed services access protocol (such as REST, SOAP) and modern payloads (XML, JSON)
- Experience in design and building mobile, web applications implementing service-oriented microservices architecture (such as Java, spring boot, Relational or NoSQL databases)
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with the proven ability to communicate with all levels including management and stake holders.
- Demonstrated experience working as part of a collaborative, cross-functional, modern software design, and development team to identify goals, metrics, and analytics to measure product value.
- Demonstrated ability to anticipate, mitigate, and resolve conflicts across technology / business partners and executing projects, meeting deadlines, and operating under tight time constraints.
- Data driven and metric-based approach to prioritization of functional enhancements or defects. Ability to quantify impact, ROI, etc.
- Experience in product management or product design and displaying leadership, organizational and execution skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including such areas as team spirit, negotiation, collaboration, pitching in where needed, valuing and respecting team members.
