PeopleSoft Developer
We are seeking a developer to work on large medium to large enhancements for PeopleSoft Financials 9.2. This position analyzes customer needs, develops customizations, features, reports, integrations/interfaces and bolt-ons for PeopleSoft Financials modules including GL, AP, AR, AM. Responsibilities include working on new enhancements, other related projects, operational support, testing, maintenance, and customer support. PeopleSoft functional knowledge to the design and customization of PeopleSoft and related applications to meet the company's requirements. Writes technical/functional requirements, develops, and implements test plans, and works with production issues. Understands common business/functional analysis tools and methodologies and can apply them to solve problems.
Responsibilities
- Develop customizations/modifications to the PeopleSoft application including online transaction processing, batch/interface processing, queries, and reports. Maintain and support PeopleSoft functionality and customizations and migrate changes across environments. Bring innovation & out of box solutions to complex business requirements
- Analyze customer requests and recommend, design, and create solutions using delivered PeopleSoft features and functionality. Create customizations and develop new business processes (bolt-on) in PeopleSoft if needed
- Design and develop interfaces/integrations between PeopleSoft and other new and existing systems, both internal and external. Streamlining existing customizations.
- Troubleshoot operational and application issues and implement appropriate solutions
- Must be able to perform all levels of support of PeopleSoft in described areas to include understanding error messages, know how to identify data errors, and understand common processing errors
- Uses clear, direct language when describing workflows and procedures; avoids overusing technical terms or company jargon; uses outlines to clarify the sequence of tasks and diagrams or charts to provide a visual picture of the process.
- Experience with debugging and troubleshooting
- Experience in writing Technical/Functional Design documents
- Ability to multi-task between projects and applications and to manage multiple priorities, while meeting deadlines
- Ability to keep abreast of technology trends; learn new skills and technologies; and lead the adoption of best practices.
- Experience working with customers on business analysis, assessment of new functionality and requirements development.

- Must have proven, strong skills using SQR, SQL to review data to assist in problem solving.
- Must be proficient with Oracle Application Designer to review SQL & PeopleCode to aid in trouble shooting issues.
- Assess environment and identify areas for improvement; suggest solutions.
- Facilitate the process of gathering and documenting user/project requirements; Build functional/technical system specifications
- Responsible for providing expertise and best practice recommendations to operations staff.
- Must have strong functional knowledge of PS Financial Modules as well as the business processes that are required for each.
- Responsible for creating systems test plans and then ultimately performing systems testing for assigned change requests.
- Use knowledge of industry best practices and previous experience to recommend technological and business process changes to improve services and solve long-term problems in a way that aligns with the company's and team's strategic objectives
- Act as the Subject Matter Expert on PeopleSoft Financials
- Represent the business with Corporate IT department's PeopleSoft development team, attend prioritization meetings
- Coordinate activities in Software Development Lifecycle, specifically Analysis, Design, Configuration and Testing
- Clearly and completely summarize & document system requirements
- Support and coordinate System Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing, and associated activities such by planning and documenting business test scenarios and quality assurance methodologies
- Test system design and functionality against business requirements, and drive issue research and resolution
- Support and coordinate Issue Management events from identification through resolution
- Understands and supports change control/migration control
- Experience in project management would be beneficial.
- Experience with Exadata and performance management a plus
- Knowledge/Experience with informatic and autosys a plus
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
- A minimum of 5-10 years of experience as a PeopleSoft developer/analyst, which includes direct programming experience and experience conducting business analysis with technical and non-technical staff
- A minimum of 5-10 years years of experience as a developer/analyst supporting multiple PeopleSoft modules
- In-depth knowledge of PeopleSoft architecture and data flow
- In-depth experience developing in People Tools, including Application Designer, Application Engine, PeopleCode, and Application Packages
- In-depth knowledge of SQR and SQL
- In-depth knowledge of debugging and tracing PeopleSoft sessions
- Have Application Designer, People Code, Application Engine, Component Interface, SQR, Workflow, Oracle SQL, Component Interface, Integration Broker and File layout experience.
- Have experience on software development methodology and quality processes, working in various projects adhering to phases of software development life cycle, which includes system study, analysis, design, development, unit testing, system testing, UAT testing and production cutover.
- Technical expertise, capable of prioritizing and tracking activities effectively to meet commitments, proactive, self-learning and capable of learning new technologies/applications fast.
- Have preparation of unit test cases, test logs and per review of deliverable experience/skills.
- Strong analytical, communication and troubleshooting skills.
Education
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related fields
