Job Description

Key Accountabilities

  • Own end to end delivery of the releases
  • Work with multiple business stakeholders for requirement gathering and document accordingly
  • Work with developers to ensure the delivery is of high-quality by using industry aligned standards, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance
  • Engage relevant teams to perform impact assessment for releases to ensure zero impact to the affected components or organization
  • Cross-functional collaboration with business stakeholders, product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives
  • Plan and prioritize the release cycles optimally
  • Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.

Stakeholder Management and Leadership

  • Role has the opportunity to manage stakeholders and ensure BAU run demands are managed and no impact to the Tagging as a service
  • Role has the opportunity to lead small teams on mission critical projects / initiatives to deliver success.

Decision-making and Problem Solving

  • Role requires candidate to take independent decisions in the best interest of stakeholders and where in doubt seeks assistance from his peer and leadership.
  • Actively triage problems/incidents to drive to closure and customer satisfaction
  • Challenge current ways of working and support business with delivering innovative ideas within the team
  • Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
  • Communicate complex information. Complex information could include sensitive information or information that is difficult to communicate because of its content or its audience.
  • Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes

Risk and Control Objective


Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work you do.

Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise-Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications

  • Familiarity with release management & deployment process
  • Aware of SDLC, change management and Agile lean control process
  • Stakeholder management

Desirable Skills/Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in change management
  • Project Management tools, Jira
  • Functional/Domain experience in Banking/Cards/Loans.
  • Familiarisation with digital current trends and priorities in digital media, Digital Marketing & Web Analytics

Purpose of the role


To manage the efficient delivery of large-scale technical projects and capabilities across the bank and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations throughout the software product lifecycle, adhering to agreed time, budget and quality requirements.

Accountabilities

  • Management of the delivery, resource allocation and improvement of complex technical project capabilities across the bank using Agile/Scrum methodologies for planning, stand-ups, demos, retrospectives and the execution of sprints.
  • Collaboration with customers and business teams to manage and implement customer trails to support the proposal of technically feasible solutions, and effort and timeline expectations.
  • Collaboration with software engineers, quality teams, product managers and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality products and features through the software project lifecycle aligned to the banks objectives, regulation and security policies.
  • Identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks associated with technical projects to prepare the bank for potential challenges.
  • Management of change requests and communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Management of vendor relations involved in technical projects to ensure they deliver according to agreed terms.
  • Stay abreast of the latest industry technology trends and technologies, to evaluate and adopt new approaches to improving deliver outcomes and to foster a culture of continuous learning, technical excellence and growth.

  • Maintain and continually build an understanding of how own sub-function integrates with function, alongside knowledge of the organisations products, services and processes within the function.
  • Demonstrate understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
  • Make evaluative judgements based on the analysis of factual information, paying attention to detail.
  • Resolve problems by identifying and selecting solutions through the application of acquired technical experience and will be guided by precedents.
  • Guide and persuade team members and communicate complex / sensitive information.
  • Act as contact point for stakeholders outside of the immediate function, while building a network of contacts outside team and external to the organisation.
