Distacart is Looking for:
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Tech Manager to oversee the technical aspects of our eCommerce marketplace. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of building eCommerce stores from scratch, leading a team of developers, and ensuring the highest levels of performance and reliability. This role demands a relentless and responsive professional who can extract maximum productivity from their team while addressing and resolving technical challenges independently.
Responsibilities:
- eCommerce Store Development:
Lead the development of eCommerce stores from inception to launch, ensuring high-quality and scalable solutions.
Design, build, and maintain Shopify-based apps and integrations.
Implement best practices in coding, architecture, and development processes.
Manage and mentor a team of approximately 10 developers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Set clear goals, provide regular feedback, and ensure continuous improvement and professional growth of team members.
Adapt to changing dynamics in the business, team, and job role.
Ensure that the team completes their tasks by the due date and facilitate any inter-dependency among team members.
Monitor tasks assigned to team members daily and ensure every task has an owner and ETA.
Resolve the issues between team members and escalate serious issues to the reporting manager.
Run weekly team meetings and provide frequent status updates of team members.
- Technical Problem Solving:
Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex technical issues without assistance.
Perform root cause analysis and implement effective solutions to prevent future occurrences.
- Performance Optimization:
Address website speed issues and implement strategies to make the store blazing fast.
Optimize server configurations, code, and front-end performance to enhance user experience and SEO rankings.
Plan and execute technical projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, design, and operations, to deliver seamless eCommerce experiences.
Have a clear understanding of changes being made at a high level and ability to spot check changes being deployed.
Ensure quick turnaround time for calls, emails, and texts.
Drive tasks to closure and provide productivity/performance statistics of team members.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field with an excellent academic record.
Proven hands-on experience in building eCommerce stores from scratch.
Strong experience in developing and maintaining Shopify-based apps.
Experience leading a team of around 10 members, with a focus on productivity and performance
Expertise in identifying and debugging technical issues independently.
Strong understanding of website performance optimization techniques.
Proficiency in relevant programming languages and technologies (e.g., JavaScript AND HTML AND CSS AND Liquidcode , AND Ruby on Rails).
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.
