FinOps Engineer

We're looking for an FinOps Engineer candidate with experience in managing the financial operations and optimization of our cloud infrastructure, ensuring cost efficiency, and implementing best practices in cloud financial management. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, experience with cloud platforms, and a keen understanding of financial management principles.to join our team.

Your Role Responsibilities Here's What You'll Do

• Cloud Cost Management:
• Monitor and analyze cloud spending across various cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Implement cost optimization strategies to reduce overall cloud expenditure.
• Provide detailed cost reports and insights to stakeholders, helping them understand their spending patterns.
• Budgeting and Forecasting:
• Collaborate with finance and engineering teams to develop accurate cloud usage forecasts.
• Assist in the creation of budgets for cloud-related projects and initiatives.
• Track and report on budget variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Cost Allocation and Tagging:
• Develop and enforce tagging strategies to ensure accurate cost allocation across departments and projects.
• Implement automated solutions for tagging and cost allocation.
• Financial Reporting and Analysis:
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports related to cloud spending.
• Conduct detailed financial analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
• Present findings and recommendations to senior management.
• Tooling and Automation:
• Evaluate and implement tools for cloud cost management and optimization (e.g., Cloudability, AWS Cost Explorer, PowerBI).
• Automate repetitive financial operations tasks to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Policy and Governance:
• Develop and enforce cloud financial management policies and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with corporate financial policies and external regulations.
• Conduct regular audits to verify compliance and identify areas for improvement.

Role Essentials

• 3+ years of experience in cloud financial management, cloud cost optimization, or related fields.
• Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their pricing models.
• Experience with financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, FinOps Certified Practitioner) are a plus.
• Proficient in financial analysis tools and cloud cost management platforms.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in SQL, Excel, and financial reporting tools.
