Job Description

Job Purpose

You will ensure smooth plant operations by overseeing maintenance activities undertaken by the team for the plant, equipment and utilities. You will implement a preventive maintenance schedule for all shops, propose the factory maintenance budget and ensure adherence to budget.

Position Title: Team Manager - Maintenance

Reports to: Head - Maintenance

Function: Maintenance

What you'll do:

  • You will plan and oversee execution of overall maintenance activities (preventive, predictive and total production) of the plant - process, machines, utilities, civil and environment
  • You will also track and control the maintenance spares cost; optimize the repairs, power and fuel expenses
  • You will track metrics such as production loss attributed to maintenance, Mean time to repair (MTTR) for critical equipment, Mean time between failures (MTBF) and ensure reduction in these areas
  • You need to analyze MIS reports and conduct root cause analysis for all critical breakdowns
  • You will strongly propose and implement innovative techniques for enhanced service and support
  • You will ensure inventory controls for high-value items, consumables and critical equipment's spare parts
  • You need to verify documentation to ensure compliance to relevant statutory compliances (electricity boards, municipal factory licenses)
  • You need to obtain approvals from statutory authorities for regular operations of the plant
  • You will also scrutinize and propose new vendors/service providers and negotiate prices for consumables, power, spares and service, feedback about vendors/ contractors performance and take corrective action.
  • You need to allocate manpower (contractual + temporary) to shifts according to availability to meet targets thereby reducing the number of line stoppages due to unavailability of manpower.
  • Resolve conflicts and handles grievances of team members
  • Ensure safe working conditions in the plant during and after the maintenance activities and compliance with pollution control standards, all safety standards and other relevant statutes

What you'll bring

Experience:10+ years experience working in the maintenance function in a factory with 2+ years experience in leading a team.

Qualification: B. Tech / B. E (Mechanical Engineering)

Skills: Preventive, Predictive Maintenance, MTTR, MTBF, Corrective Maintenance, Production Maintenance, Mechanical Maintenance
