Summary of Primary Job Responsibilities : ( may be used to create job postings )
Performs a variety of routine tasks as part of the Central Purchasing Team. Perform tasks given by the Manager as and when necessary.
- Managing Team of Buyers including evaluation of performance, setting up KPIs, ensure work is performed within set TATs, Training
- Lead process improvement and continuous improvement initiatives to improve metrics; time per transaction, number of issues and cost savings
- Ensure correct and timely reporting of team statistics to the Manager
- Allocation and management of work to team members and first point of escalation for issues from the team
- Provide coaching, mentoring, training, feedback and information to the team members, peers and management. Maintaining a high level of team engagement
- Ensure that processes are documented, support in improvement initiatives
- Liaising between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and clients.
- Actively promote and champion the use of best practice to ensure compliance with the organization s policies and procedures.
- Develop and enhance Procurement strategy & policies to suit the Organization goals.
- Highlighting any major commercial risks or issues to Management and working with them to ensure the optimum solution.
- Producing reports and statistics
- Coordinating & assisting Procurement leadership including Category managers with RFP, Bids, Negotiations and Bid evaluations
- Participation in audits as required
- Manage Contract repository
- Supporting Onboarding process and Vendor Management
- Resolving issues between vendors, purchasing & accounts payable
- Providing training to stakeholders and approvers.

Education : (if beyond High School or equivalent):
High School education or GED equivalent required. Some college or post high school education in finance/accounting preferred.
Experience Target : (specify if in this job or a related function or field:
Three (3) or more years in Procurement.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: (identify essential knowledge, skills and abilities required and identify additional competencies that enable success in performing this job--essential skills should be noted as required, others may be noted as preferred)
- D etail oriented; basic knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Demonstrated ability to research and problem solve effectively.
- PC proficient with the demonstrated ability to use a variety of software packages to include MS Office, ERP software.
- Ability to capture the detail of a situation and communicate accurately and completely either verbally or in writing.
- Ability to prioritize and adjust to deadline pressure in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
- Disciplined self-starter with the ability to work independently managing time effectively.
- Strong mathematical, computer and analytical skills; basic accounting skills, very organized; strong interpersonal skills .
