Job Description
The MYP English Teacher will be responsible for delivering high-quality English instruction to students in grades [specify grades, e.g., 6-10]. The ideal candidate will have a passion for literature, language, and teaching, as well as the ability to engage and motivate students. This role involves planning, implementing, and assessing a comprehensive English curriculum that aligns with the International Baccalaureate (IB) MYP framework.
Key Responsibilities
- Curriculum Development: Design and implement an engaging and challenging MYP English curriculum that meets IB standards and promotes critical thinking, creativity, and intercultural awareness.
- Instruction: Deliver dynamic and interactive English lessons that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities, using a variety of instructional strategies and technologies.
- Assessment: Develop and administer formative and summative assessments to evaluate student progress, provide timely and constructive feedback, and adjust instructional strategies as needed.
- Classroom Management: Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters respect, collaboration, and a love of learning.
- Student Support: Provide individualized support and guidance to students, addressing their academic, social, and emotional needs.
- Professional Development: Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in MYP instruction and IB philosophy.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community to support student learning and development.
