Role Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced US GMS - Tax Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing and signing all types of US individual income tax returns, demonstrating a high level of proficiency in tax technical knowledge. This role involves managing an engagement team, setting performance measurements, and ensuring that performance goals, including engagement economics, turnaround time, and quality targets, are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Tax Return Review & Signing: Review and sign all types of US individual income tax returns with accuracy and compliance.
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrate advanced knowledge of UK tax regulations and technical aspects.
- Team Management: Manage the engagement team effectively by setting performance measurements, ensuring that engagement economics, turnaround time, and quality targets are achieved.
- Service Development: Identify and lead the development of new services that the service line can perform at the VVN.
- Mentoring & Supervision: Develop, mentor, and supervise Associates and Senior Associates, providing leadership and support.
- Leadership & Communication: Exhibit leadership and executive presence. Communicate progress and project status to all stakeholders effectively.
- Policy Knowledge: Maintain knowledge of firm policies related to confidentiality and data privacy, client acceptance, engagement letters, tax return preparer guidelines, and knowledge-sharing.
- Adherence to Protocol: Consistently adhere to practice protocols and internal processes.
- Team Creation & Inspiration: Create and lead high-performing teams, inspire team members, and lead by example.
- Coaching & Management Style: Coach team members and develop a flexible, adaptive management style to meet diverse needs.
Qualifications And Experience
- Educational Background: Commerce Graduate/Postgraduate, MBA.
- Experience: 5-7 years of experience in reviewing and signing US individual tax returns.
- Skills: Excellent communication skills, strong leadership abilities, and proficiency in tax technical knowledge.
