The Manager Tax Compliance will be responsible for overseeing all non-profit and private foundation tax compliance activities for the organization. This individual will ensure that all tax filings, including 990, 990-T, 990-EZ, 990-N, 990-PF and other federal, state, and local tax returns, are completed accurately and in a timely manner. They will also be responsible for conducting thorough research on tax laws and regulations to ensure the organization remains in compliance.
What You Will Do
- Oversee and manage all non-profit and private foundation tax compliance activities for the organization
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all tax filings, including 990, 990-T, 990-EZ, 990-N, 990-PF and other federal, state, and local tax returns
- Conduct research on tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and identify potential tax savings opportunities
- Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and provide guidance to the organization
- Manage relationships with US project manager
- Collaborate with US team to gather necessary financial information for tax filings
- Review and approve tax filings prepared by junior tax staff
- Keep abreast of industry best practices in tax compliance and implement new processes and procedures as needed
- Support US team on tax audits as necessary
- Develop and manage team
What You Will Need
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Enrolled Agent, US CPA, Masters in US tax preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in tax compliance
- Extensive knowledge of tax laws and regulations, particularly for non-profit organizations
- Experience with tax research and analysis
- Strong understanding of 990, 990-T, 990-EZ, 990-N, 990-PF and other tax returns
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and meet tight deadlines
- Experience developing and managing a team
- Proficient in IRS filings and tax compliance software
