Brief About The Practice
Trade and Customs practice focusses on business transactions dealing with movement of (products) goods across (inter)national boundaries. The role will require to support clients with specialist advice and guidance on trade and customs regulations and policies. Opportunity to undertake intense research and understand the practical aspects of navigating complex trade and customs regulations to facilitate (client) cross border business operations.
About The Role
- Conduct research and analysis on international trade and customs issues, keeping up to date with changes in legislation, regulations, and policies.
- Statutory/ Legal framework for assisting the clients would include:
- Customs Act, 1962, including rules, regulations, notifications thereunder.
- Customs Tariff Act, 1975, including General Rules of Interpretation (GRI), ITC-HS Codes, and notifications thereunder.
- Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) and Handbook of Procedures, including export incentives, trade operation schemes, etc.
- Free Trade Agreement, including enforcement of rules of origin under CAROTAR, 2020
- Allied legislations requiring compliances in relation to import and export of goods, including Bureau of Indian Standards Quality Conformity (BIS)
Qualification
- Chartered Accountant or LL.B with 2-3 years of experience
- Any IDT or Customs related accreditations or background, would be an added advantage

Qualifications
Postgraduate
