We are seeking a passionate and skilled Tailoring Faculty
to join our team and train candidates under the Paschim Banga Society for Skill Development (PBSSD)
West Bengal project. The faculty member will play a crucial role in imparting hands-on training, technical knowledge, and career development skills to students pursuing tailoring courses.
Conduct Training Sessions:
- Deliver comprehensive classroom and practical training in tailoring, stitching, pattern making, garment construction, and related subjects.
Ensure that training adheres to PBSSD curriculum guidelines and standards.
Demonstrate and teach various tailoring techniques, including cutting, sewing, embroidery, alterations, and garment finishing.- Supervise students during practical sessions to ensure skill development and safety.
Curriculum Management:- Develop and update course materials, lesson plans, and assignments as per the PBSSD requirements.
Monitor the progress of students and provide feedback for improvement.Assessment and Evaluation:
Conduct assessments and evaluate the performance of students through practical tests, assignments, and projects.
- Prepare progress reports and maintain accurate student records.
Career Development:
- Guide and mentor students in pursuing career opportunities in the tailoring industry, including self-employment or placements with local businesses.
Offer additional career-oriented skills like communication and customer service.
- Administration and Compliance:
Ensure timely documentation of training activities, attendance, and student evaluations as per PBSSD requirements.- Collaborate with PBSSD coordinators for periodic audits, reporting, and project compliance.
Workshops and Guest Sessions:- Organize special workshops, guest lectures, or industry visits to enhance students exposure to the tailoring industry.
- Qualifications and Skills:
Diploma/Degree in Fashion Designing, Tailoring, or relevant field.
- Prior experience (2-3 years) in teaching or working in the tailoring/fashion industry.
Strong technical knowledge in garment construction and tailoring techniques.- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with PBSSD projects or other skill development initiatives is a plus.
- Patience, attention to detail, and a passion for skill development and education.
