Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Tableau Admin to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Tableau Server and Site Administration, with a strong ability to troubleshoot and manage server issues, and ensure smooth operation of Tableau environments. This is a remote position with a competitive salary.
Key Responsibilities
Tableau Server Administration:
- Configure built-in alerts and incidents to notify of events and thresholds.
- Identify background task success/failure, job queueing, slow workbooks, disk usage, and license allocations.
- Create custom administrative views from repository data.
- Set custom data-driven alerts to align with the organization's policies and goals.
- Troubleshoot issues using Tableau Server logs.
- Resolve outstanding Tableau server issues.
- Manage Tableau upgrades.
- Handle server failure management, restarts, and test server management.
- Ensure backups are running efficiently.
- Conduct post-server patching tests to confirm report functionality and server performance.
- Communicate data reports to clients effectively and assist in understanding and meeting their requirements.
Tableau Site Administration
- Create and manage the site s users and groups.
- Create projects to organize content on the site and assign permissions.
- Promote and certify content, and measure the use of analytics within the site.
Good To Have
Tableau Desktop:
- Develop, design, and maintain Tableau dashboards and analytics on Tableau Desktop.
- Publish workbooks and data sources to Tableau Development and QA sites.
- Create and maintain technical and support-related documentation.
Requirements
- 5 to 9 years of experience in Tableau Server and Site Administration.
- Proficiency in configuring alerts, managing server tasks, and troubleshooting issues.
- Strong knowledge of server management, including upgrades, restarts, and backups.
- Experience in creating administrative views and custom alerts.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients and interpret data reports.
- Familiarity with Tableau Desktop for developing and maintaining dashboards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a remote environment.
